LIA is proud to be the Appraisal Institute’s only endorsed E&O program since 1991.

Since then, we have grown into the largest program in the country specializing in meeting the diverse insurance needs of real estate valuation professionals. Since we first began insuring real estate appraisers in 1978, LIA has become the largest and most successful E&O program for the real estate valuation profession. Through our relationship with the Appraisal Institute, we have helped to insure, defend and educate AI members and provide support to the national association and its chapters towards our goal of reducing liability exposure.

Answerable to Appraisers

Since 1991, LIA has met with the board members of the Appraisal Institute’s professional liability insurance committee making us the only insurance program directly answerable to appraisers. Through our work with the board members, our policy for valuation professionals has remained the most relevant, comprehensive and successful.

Working with AI

We have a long history of working with the Appraisal Institute. We have assisted with AI’s advocacy by providing information and support in regulatory concerns. AI’s Valuation magazine frequently runs liability articles written by Peter Christensen of Valuation Legal. LIA also works with Peter in providing the chapters speakers and education for their events.
